This is one of the most amazing and versatile products out on the market! I very highly recommend this product for bronzing and beyond.

Bourjois Paris just celebrated 150 years as a cosmetic company, and with several amazing products already out on the market, this bronzing spray stands out as one of my top picks from all popular cosmetic lines.

It is a multi-use product that comes in 2 shades, 12 and 14. One being for fair skin tones and the other for olive. Use it as a bronzing spray of course, for both face and body. Be sure to spray far enough away (like hair spray) to get an even finish and prevent using too much product. Mix it in with your moisturizer to create a “self-tanner”, good until you shower of course. You will be amazed, it does not transfer onto clothing once it has dried properly. You can also use it to darken your foundation. Everyone goes through that transition between Winter and Spring when our foundation is just too light. This is a great way to customize your own foundation without breaking the bank on a whole new foundation colour. Here is the big one!…. You can use this amazing product as a DRY SHAMPOO (not really recommended for blondes though). Spray into hair at the same distance as you would most dry shampoos, but be sure to rub it in and it will absorb all excess oils  in hair to give you that extra day of clean feeling. Just as you think, WOW, this product can do amazing things, there is one more! You can even use it to touch up grey roots in between dye applications. Again spray on the roots and rub it in, it will blend away greys softly temporarily as well.

I love this fantastic product, and most certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great bronzing product, as well as all the other uses its versatility allows.

The importance of skin hydration

It’s very important to hydrate and moisturize your skin in the dry, cold winter time. Believe it or not even if you are very oily you can still have dehydrated skin.

Always choose an appropriate moisturizer for your skin to keep it going all year long. I will suggest a few tips for different skin types, as well as for sensitive skin!

If you are dry to very dry, choose a suitable cream for that. Something like a thicker cream or a balm are great to help eliminate that dry flaky look to the skin. Be sure to use every morning and every night after cleansing.

If you are dry combination, a good “all skin types” cream might be the route to go. They are not quite so thick as a dry skin cream, but still thicker than a gel or fluid meant more for people on the oily side. If you still feel dry in certain areas, you can apply a thicker cream just to those areas. You also do not want to create excess oils in the areas that don’t need it.

If you are oily, a good moisturizer should be in the form of a gel or a very thin fluid. Make sure it is one specific for oily and very oily skins. Again you do not want to create excess sebum in the skin, just hydrate it. Contrary to popular belief, trying to remove all the oil from your skin with alcohol based products etc will actually cause the skin to go into overdrive and overproduce oil to compensate. A good light moisturizer will help keep you hydrated and not overproducing oils!

Now if you have overly sensitive skin, you may still use the above guidelines, just keep in mind to opt out for a product that is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, hypo-allergenic, and specifically suggests it is for sensitive skin.

Live Clean- shampoos and conditioners

I have been using the Live Clean line of shampoos and conditioners for quite some time now and I really wanted to make people aware of it. The whole line is 96-98% plant based. The products are petroleum free, paraben free, and sulfate free. They are also completely vegan, in that they use no animal ingredients, and they do not test on animals. I would definitely recommend using this line over any other. Its much healthier for both us and the environment.

I have tried several different combinations from this line. Including the argan oil line for dry hair, the Pink Fire line for colour treated hair, and now the professional line for damaged hair as well. I had purple hair for over a year and the Pink Fire shampoo and conditioner from the Live Clean line were the only ones out of anything I have ever tried that did not strip the colour out of my hair. That’s important, and most other brands have sulfate in them and that is partially the cause for dull, stripped hair colour.

Avene Cold Cream Lip Cream

Things have been so hectic lately I haven’t had a chance to blog about any of the exciting things I have tried or come across in the last while! Well here is a good one.

I highly recommend anyone with dry, chapped winter lips to try this Avene cold cream lip cream! I swear it helps more than any lip balm or chapstick I have ever tried.

Avene overall makes products for sensitive, dry, or reactive skin. It’s great for anyone suffering from severely dry skin, lips, acne, etc. Since I tend to have very dry and chapped lips that are worse in the winter, I decided to give this product a try. It has no fragrance, no taste, and personally I just apply it at night before I go to bed.

I give this product my seal of approval! And I would recommend trying any of their other skin care products if you do in fact have anything from just dry skin to acne to even Rosacea or Eczema.

Anna Sui Moisture Rich Foundation Review

I just got an Anna Sui foundation, and I am so excited to review it. I have used it both on myself and have tried it on a model for a photo shoot, and I absolutely love it!

This is a very hydrating smooth foundation, and it is a full coverage (build-able) foundation! Tea rose is used in all Anna Sui‘s makeup formulations, and you can definitely smell it in the foundation. Now, personally, I like the smell, but some people might not like it so much. I can safely say though, that the smell does fade away and you won’t be smelling tea rose all day long if that is a concern. It comes in really cute packaging, and as seen above the bottle looks like a rose, which I find super cute! Overall, I really like this foundation and I give it the OK for photo shoots. It shows up on camera quite nicely, and has a more “hydrating” feel to it than say MUFE HD foundation. 😉

Cost wise, the foundation goes for about $36 CDN. Please note though, people with very oily skin might not like this foundation. I think it will work better with dry or normal/combination skins. Always powder the areas where you find you get oily throughout the day to help minimize any shine! 🙂
